Well, the sun shone and you all came in droves.....in fact we had over 500 visitors this year, which surpassed our previous record! We have posted some photos, updates and the **winners** of the colouring competition on our Fun Day page.
We'll announce the sums you all helped us raise very soon. In the meantime, if you haven't bought your raffle tickets, there is still time, but it's running out....
We received a call from the police about some animals that were left when a woman was evicted from her property in Mitcham.
We were horrified by what we found.
As part of Rabbit Awareness Week being held from Monday 23rd to Sunday 29th May 2011, Delia was asked to appear on BBC Breakfast television to talk about keeping rabbits as pets. She was joined by Evo, Stig & Scooby, a group of 3 rabbits still looking for a home.

We had a lovely dwarf lop dumped near the centre tonight. Please read the story.
I wandered into reception on Friday to be greeted by a smiling Delia asking if I could do her a favour -
Wow, have Delia and Jim been busy!!! The refurbishments have been taking a little longer than we had hoped but that is due to delays in deliveries and having more animals than anticipated still in the centre.
A big thank you to Tamsin, our web designer, who has been busy making the latest enhancements to our website. Our Sponsorship page has been completely refreshed and you can now buy annual sponsors direct from our website.
We also now have a 'downloads' section within the Care Articles page where you can download our pdf care articles as well as Burgess Pet Care and RWAF Information leaflets.
Not a KFC 12 piece bargain bucket, but a bucket full of 12 live guinea pigs. It's actually not funny. We were absolutely gobsmacked.
Our hearts always sink when we find boxes or carriers on the doorstep, but to find a bucket with guinea pigs standing on top of each other takes the biscuit really.
Our personalised mouse mats are available for sale in our eBay shop for just £3.75 with free P&P. You can buy one by clicking here. You can have any photo you like!
We received a call from a local vet who needed to find a rescue to take two baby bunnies found wandering on a university campus. The member of staff who spotted them managed to catch the two babies, who we have called Teasel and Mallow, but couldn’t catch the mum despite her very best efforts. Teasel and Mallow, who we estimate to be 3 weeks old, are beginning to nibble on dried food but still rely on the syringe feeds we are giving them. People seem to think that setting unwanted bunnies free is kind – it is not. These domesticated pets have nowhere to go and are just a free meal for the fox. Please don’t do it! Instead, do the decent thing for the pet you are responsible for and contact your local rescue.
You will probably have noticed that we have a lot fewer animals than usual. The reason for this is that, due to the huge success of our recent fun day, we now have sufficient funds to do some fantastic refurbishments. In order to complete the refurbishment we need to reduce our capacity. We will still be admitting animals but this will be very limited. Click on news story below to see what our refurbishments will entail...
Wow! - We would like to say a HUGE thank you for helping us to break our record and raise just under £6,000 on our Fun Day - what a truly amazing day we all had.
Big Yellow Self Storage have recently provided a storage unit free of charge for our use.
You may have seen the Innocent smoothies and veg pots adverts in newspapers and magazines with rabbits sitting on top...

We get lots of people asking about our little soldier Bud.
Thanks to everyone for their kind wishes and thoughts. Bud is doing wonderfully!
Bud, the tiny Netherland Dwarf rabbit dumped on our doorstep, update.
We arrived home from work on Wednesday 8th February to find a box of Budweiser on our doorstep.
Fearing the worst we opened it. Our fears were confirmed….no beer.
Whilst pondering in a quiet moment, HA! like we get lots of those!!!!
I kept churning these words in my head, then decided to put them to paper. Delia said it should go on the website, and so i am about to unleash them upon an unsuspecting public. So, with all due respect to Ernie, "Here are the words what i wrote".
